SKID DO IV, S-93

The WANTED was built in 1955 by John Cramer and campaigned as Skid-Do IV, S-93 when this photo was taken in 1956 at Melbourne, Kentucky. Cramer also built many other fast hydroplanes but this one he campaigned and drove himself. Skid Do, or "greasing the skids" were used to facilitate getting the ships of the day into the water from the shipyards. It's not known if Cramer actually greased his skids, but being the builder, one may suspect he had a few tricks worked into the design of his hydro. Be carefull if you locate this boat as personal injury may result and fines may be imposed.
